Endometriosis and CBD

By Angela Mynatt

Monthly pelvic pain, lower back tenderness, and painful intercourse; these are just a few of the symptoms a woman gets when she has Endometriosis. These symptoms come from endometrial tissue that have grown in locations outside of the uterus.

Endometriosis affects between 6%-10% of women of reproductive age worldwide. It is a very common debilitating disease, and about 25% to 50% of infertile women have endometriosis, while 30% to 50% of women with endometriosis are infertile.

Mainstream treatments consist of Hormonal (birth control), pain killers, and surgery. None of which are long term solutions unfortunately. Tissue can regrow after so many years and birth control and pain killers have adverse effects.

When experiencing symptoms of Endometriosis, it is important to understand that inflammation occurs in the fallopian tubes, ovaries, lining of pelvis, bladder, rectum, intestines and outside the uterus literally binding to these organs, bone and muscle, causing the extreme pain and discomfort.

This lining of Endometrial cells that have migrated outside of the womb, actually moved to a location in the body they are not supposed to be.

It is an imbalance occurring in the body
The system known as the Endocannabinoid system, or ESC, is where we seek alternative methods and results. The job of the ECS is to bring about homeostasis (balance) into the mind/body.

Research is revealing that CBD, one of the major cannabinoids on the Hemp/Marijuana plant relieves pain and inflammation; along with very specific actions pertaining to the imbalance of Endometriosis! Upon study of the ESC and a receptor GPR18, which is a protein in the body, it has been determined that CBD is BLOCKING the activation of this protein, which is STOPPING the Endometrial cells from leaving the Womb.

My name is Angela Mynatt the Owner of Mindful Medicinals, I suffered from Endometriosis most of my 20s. I eventually ended up having surgery, because I knew no other alternatives at the time, and I did not know about CBD.

The research and experiences of women are starting to become more widespread and bringing education and real relief to this Medical Issue.

We at Mindful Medicinals and Conscious Times believe in using CBD as an alternative to finding relief and quality of life. We are Sister companies using the same Organically farmed CBD made for both Topical and ingestible use.

CBD Suggestions for Endometriosis:
15/25mg of High CBD Low THC daily depending on the extent of the issue.

Topical CBD as needed on lower belly and back
Ingesting through a sublingual tincture carries the medicine to deep tissues for anti-inflammation, anti-pain, lower vascular density, limited cell proliferation, and sustain cell migration.

Applying topically, carrier oils such as Arnica Montana, castor or almond can be quickly absorbed into the skin delivering the CBD directly to the cells through the blood-brain barrier. Topical essential oils like lavender, frankincense, peppermint, clove, marjoram, and cinnamon are noted to be effective at reducing pain in the lower pelvic area.

Using non-invasive modalities i.e. massage, acupuncture, light stretching, quality supplements, and diet are all therapies to consider for natural alleviation. Using warm compresses on the lower abdomen increases blood flow and relaxes tissues. The impact of massage, especially the feet, daily grants access for better sleep and comfort allowing the body to relax and recover. Since the feet have the largest pores on the body, oils applied there are efficiently absorbed and filter quality remedies.

The intricate network of organs, nerves, and cells work together to create balance. If the body can suffer it can also heal. Our body is an amazing machine and it can be motivated to accept help if given the tools and accessibility.
