August is Children’s Eye Health and Safety Month

Children’s Eye Health is an obvious growing concern for the developing child.  I see many young children wearing eyeglasses these days.

Living here in the sunshine state we can try to prevent eye damage by protecting the eyes from the bright sunshine.  Whether this is in the form of a hat or sunglasses, use common sense when selecting items to be worn on and near the child’s face.  Just like purchasing safe toys, be sure to inspect for small pieces that could easily be chewed and cause a choking hazard.

Mentally, I think it’s our responsibility as adults to accept our children and children’s children as they are.  Thus allowing and inspiring the developing child to carry out their life vision!     Some of the best musicians of our time have been blind from birth or onset into childhood.  Although they couldn’t see the physical material world with their eyes, they carried out their spiritual heartfelt vision.  This heartfelt vision is a similar benefit of yoga.  By bringing one’s breath in union with their mind and body.
