By Casey Surgical Arts –
We are all aware that the face usually portrays the first visible signs of aging. Gravity and changes in eyebrow shape and position results in the brow area, forehead, looking aged. Do you ever look in the mirror and feel that your facial features do not reflect your youthful spirit and energy level? Are you looking for ways to refresh and rejuvenate your appearance? There are many different variations of the forehead lift procedure that improve the position and shape of the eyebrow and forehead areas. Ultimately, this procedure will allow you to turn back the hands of time to better reflect your youthful spirit.
The forehead and brow lift is designed to raise the eyebrows and upper eyelids, and soften or flatten deep frown lines between the eyebrows. When performing the lift, Dr. Casey places incisions just behind the hairline, leaving no visible signs of surgery on the face. When combined with an upper and lower blepharoplasty, dramatic rejuvenation of the upper one-third of the face can be accomplished. Local anesthesia is used during the procedure which takes about one and one half-hours. In most cases, results are immediately visible. Initial wound healing may take 5 to 10 days, at which time you will be ready to return to work and normal activity.
If you are bothered by expression lines or other signs of aging in the brow region, a brow lift may be right for you. A forehead lift:
- Minimizes the creases that develop across the forehead, or those that occur high on the bridge of the nose, between the eyes
- Improves what are commonly referred to as frown lines, vertical creases that develop between the eyebrows
- Repositions a low or sagging brow that is hooding the upper eyelid
- Raises the eyebrows to a more alert and youthful position
Rejuvenation procedures typically performed in conjunction with a brow lift include:
- Eyelid surgery to rejuvenate aging eyes
- Facelift to correct aging changes in the mid- to lower face and neck regions
- Skin resurfacing techniques
