Beyond the Operating Room: A New Approach to Spine Health, Healing & Longevity

Spine HealthAt Biscup Spine & Performance Institute, we’ve built our practice around a simple idea: our goal isn’t to operate on everyone.

Our goal is to help each patient find the right path to feeling and functioning better, whether that path includes surgery or not.

Who We Are
Led by Dr. Biscup, our team brings together decades of experience in spine care, regenerative medicine, and performance-based recovery. What sets us apart is philosophy as much as expertise. We don’t view surgery as the default answer to spine pain, we view it as one tool among many, reserved for the patients who truly need it. Our approach blends traditional spine surgery training with a broader wellness and longevity mindset, treating the whole person rather than just an image on an MRI.

Who We Help
We see patients dealing with chronic back and neck pain, sciatica, spinal stenosis, and disc problems, as well as those who’ve tried previous treatments, including prior surgeries, without lasting relief. We also work with active adults who want to maintain strength, mobility, and independence as they age, and anyone whose quality of life is being limited by pain or reduced function. Not every patient in our office is in crisis; many simply want to move, train, and live better.

How We Determine the Right Treatment
Every patient starts with a thorough evaluation. We review prior imaging, MRI, X-ray, and CT scans and take the time to understand where symptoms are truly coming from, since pain location doesn’t always match its source. From there, we build an individualized treatment plan that may include conservative care, regenerative medicine, minimally invasive surgery, or a combination of approaches, always sequenced in the order most likely to help without unnecessary risk.

Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery
When surgery is appropriate, it rarely looks like what most patients imagine. Dr. Biscup specializes in minimally invasive techniques designed to decompress affected nerves while avoiding the more extensive tissue disruption associated with traditional spinal fusion. For many patients, this means a real alternative to fusion, one aimed at relieving pressure on the nerve with a smaller incision, less muscle disruption, and a more direct path back to daily life.

Regenerative Medicine
For patients who aren’t surgical candidates, or who want to explore options before considering surgery, we offer regenerative approaches including platelet-rich plasma (PRP), bone marrow aspirate (BMA), alpha-2-macroglobulin (A2M), and exosome-based therapies. These treatments are designed to support the body’s own healing response. Many patients report noticeably less inflammation, improved cognitive clarity, and enhanced endurance and stamina as part of their recovery experience.

Recovery and Performance
Healing doesn’t end when a procedure is finished, and for many patients, it doesn’t require a procedure at all. Our recovery and performance services include hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT), HOCATT ozone therapy, Elysium light therapy, IV nutrient infusions, physical therapy, and aqua therapy. These services are used individually or together to support tissue healing, reduce downtime, and help patients regain strength and function more fully.

The Main Goal
Everything we do is built around one outcome: keeping people active, independent, mobile, and engaged in their lives. Whether that means returning to golf, keeping up with grandchildren, getting back to the gym, or simply moving through daily life without pain, our focus is on helping patients feel stronger and perform better, for the long term, not just the short term.

How to Become a Patient
Becoming a patient starts with a one-hour new patient consultation with Dr. Biscup. During this visit, we review your MRI, X-ray, and CT scans in detail to develop a comprehensive diagnosis and a clear picture of your options. We ask that you bring your imaging disk and report, along with any relevant medical history, so we can make the most of our time together.
