Say Goodbye to Your SINUS PAINWhat is Sinusitis
Sinusitis is a common condition affecting up to 30 million people a year in the U.S. according to the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases.  This condition involves the inflammation and swelling of small air pockets around nasal passages  located above the eyebrows, behind the nose and eyes, and under the cheekbones. When the mucus membranes of the sinuses become inflamed, it interferes with the proper drainage of mucus and causes mucus buildup. Breathing through your nose is usually difficult and often leads to areas around your face and eyes to feel swollen creating facial pain, tenderness and headaches.

Types and Causes of Sinusitis
There are 3 types of sinusitis: Acute, Subacute and Chronic. Acute sinusitis is usually viral brought on by the common cold and lasts between one and two weeks. If bacterial, this condition most often only lasts up to four weeks. Subacute sinusitis can last for 3 months and is most often brought on by bacterial infections or seasonal allergies.  Chronic sinusitis can be brought on by infection, allergies or structural issues and can last for at least 12 weeks despite treatment attempts.

Symptoms of Sinusitis
* Pain and swelling around the eyes, cheeks, nose and forehead.
* Headaches, ear pain, aching in upper jaw and teeth.
* Snoring, coughing at night, sore throat and bad breath.
* Nasal congestion, causing difficulty breathing.
* Discharge from the nose or excessive drainage down the back of the throat.

K-Laser Treatment for sinusitis
K-Laser treatments have proven effective in decreasing swelling and pain associated with sinusitis. Decreasing the swelling of the sinus cavities allows proper drainage and decreases the facial pain, headaches and pressure that are so common with this condition.  Studies have shown the results to be long-lasting due to the laser’s ability to restore damaged tissue along the sinus passages. K-Laser therapy also improves the body’s immune response by stimulating T and B lymphocytes increasing the body’s resistance to infections.

K-Laser, a state-of-the-art, Class IV laser therapy, has been found to penetrate tissue of the sinuses and initiate healing on a cellular level. K-Laser, also known as high power laser therapy, targets damaged tissue with specific wavelengths of light that have been found to accelerate the healing process and restore normal cell function.

K-Laser Sinus Therapy Treatment Process
The treatment performed lasts from 5 to 10 minutes and is SAFE, PAINLESS and NON-INVASIVE. The technician administers the laser treatment with a handheld device that is placed directly over the sinus regions that are effected. The patient can expect to feel a warm, relaxing sensation over the areas of treatment. Some patients feel relief after one treatment allowing them to breath better and notice the analgesic effects almost immediately.  There are very few contraindications and can suitably compliment therapy with antibiotics and antihistamines.
