What is Body Mind Coaching?

What is Body Mind Coaching?I want to talk to you about body mind coaching. First of all, what is coaching? If you are an athlete, say a tennis player, you probably have a few coaches that help you with different areas of your game like your serve, your cardio and your mental strength. As a tennis player, you know how to play but need help and support so you can improve and to keep you accountable. That’s what a coach does.

International coaching community says “Coaching is helping a person change in the way they wish and going in the direction they want to go. Supporting them at every level of becoming who they want to be and building awareness to empower choice and lead to change.”

Coaching is NOT about going back in time to ‘fix’ the problem, to rehash the past or old traumas. It’s about moving forward from where you are now. We all have a past and we can’t change that. But with help and guidance from a coach, it’s about moving forward and changing your old patterns and habits, (just like a tennis player).

BODY MIND COACHING is about highlighting the connection between the body and the mind. The pain, stress and emotion are not separated. We need to treat the WHOLE being, not just the ‘normal muscle pain.’ We as massage therapist hear the complaints from our clients of the stress, pain and frustration they are feeling, and we FEEL it in their bodies, in their tissues. We know what stress can do to the body. This is where Body Mind Coaching comes in, to connect the two, to show the clients that we can’t separate it.

This is not about me having all the answers or knowing what’s best for my clients. This is about holding a safe container for you and to give you tools and support to find the right answers for YOU.

A few weeks ago, one of my clients came back to see me and I hadn’t seen her in a few years. She came back with the same problem she had 2 years ago. I asked her a few questions and then I asked about her stress level and how that affected her pain in hip and leg. She was quiet for a while and then her eyes got big and said: “I never thought about that, never put it together but you are right, that makes so much sense.”

That is the BODY MIND CONNECTION that we usually don’t get. We don’t see the connection until someone points it out.

Now I’ll ask you…

Do you have a lot of pain in your body? How long has that been going on? What have you tried to do to get rid of it? Have you gone through physical therapy?

Are you taking pain medication? Are you seeing a pain management doctor? Maybe you have tried massage therapy. All of this probably helped to a certain degree, but you are still in pain or it keeps coming back. Why is that?

This is where Body Mind Coaching comes in and the Therapeutic Wellness System. Let me explain…

My goal is for my clients to see/ feel the connection, get ‘out of their head and into the body, to really feel what’s going on.

If any of this resonate with you and want more information, lets connect and talk but here’s just a few things we will be covering for the 8-12 weeks we’ll be working together (depending on each client’s preference and circumstances.)

With weekly or bi-weekly sessions of bodywork/massage and coaching, we are going to find out where you are now and how you want to FEEL. Get back to doing what you love with your friends and family.

The time BETWEEN the sessions are the key to this program. I will guide and support you and give you the tools you need to get back to doing what you love. I can’t do the work for you, so you need to be willing to dig in and do the work that needs to be done for you to come out on the other side a stronger and empowered new you.

This is some of the subjects we be covering:
. Take charge of your pain- Identify the pain
. Let’s get positive- How your thoughts and words affect you
. Body Mind Connection- Stress level check!
. Movement is Key- Importance of self-care
. Back to Life! – Mindset, journaling, meditation

This can also be done online with the help of different platforms like zoom calls, videos, text and email support.

I love what I do, and my mission and passion is to help and serve my clients in a much deeper way, to get in touch with their healing power and start listening to the signs our body is giving us on a daily basis.

This is totally up to you. The decision is yours. I’d love to support you in getting the lasting results you’re looking for. You don’t have to do it alone. If you believe this is for you, let’s talk.

“All the content in this program, if applied, will make for an empowered life!”

Karin Whitbeck
Owner of Therapeutic Wellnaess Center, Inc Massage therapist and Body Mind Coach I love the joy and connection I get with my clients. To help them return to doing what they love after being in pain for so long is very rewarding. A big part of my work is to teach my clients to listen to their bodies, know what to do with that information, focus and take action. The most inspiring part is to see my client when they “Get it.”

Taking a look at the whole puzzle (where the problem stems from) vs just a piece (the current pain or symptom) is where our journey begins, TOGETHER! With Bodywork and BodyMind Coaching, you can begin to move forward towards the life you have been dreaming of. I work with clients that are ready to do the work and invest in themselves. They understand I can’t do it for them. They have to do their part to get to the other side with a new outlook on life!

I received my massage license in 1994 and I believe it’s important to continue investing in my education and myself. To always continue learning and growing with my profession. Some of the modalities in my ‘toolbox’ are Myofascial release, CranioSacral therapy, Whole Body View, Lymphatic Drainage and BodyMind Coaching. A combination of techniques is used to ensure the best experience and result at every massage treatment. Clients comment that my massages are ‘very different’ than others they have had.
